I'm an eclectic person and it shows in my photography. My wife often laughs at me engaged in conversations with someone random and says "you can talk to anyone about anything". I think that skill, combined with an eye for that perfect moment in which to capture and frame a photograph, and a disarming sense of humor makes it all work. This is art for me. I love the people, the process, and the finished product. I really enjoy dreaming up all sorts of new things to photograph.
My photography style is laid back and if you reference any model I work with, they'll tell you- you will laugh and possibly not even believe that any good shots will come from our work. Then, you'll get some of the post production images and you realize there's really something there. I can find beauty in the obscure, the one flicker of a moment that nobody else catches. That's what makes me different.
I'm a private pilot, I have a total love of aviation that started when I was about 3 years old.
I'm an accomplished yacht sailor; I both crew in races and captain sailboats and I'm certified to sail up to a 50' yacht. I plan to circumnavigate (sail around the world) hopefully in the next 10 years.
I enjoy entertaining and I'm a pretty killer chef- I was seriously contemplating (and still am) culinary school.
I backpack and kayak long distances. I've spent over a year of my life in a tent and traveled over 1000 miles by foot and kayak deep in the woods if you add it all together. I usually have at least one week long trip in the woods every year.
Other stuff- I brew beer, mountain bike, fish, fix, build, and generally love the outdoors but am equally comfortable in the city. I've been married 9 years and adore my beautiful wife who is (on occasion) a pin-up model for me. I also am a father of an awesome 1 year old girl who is the light of my life.
